Hal Holbrook, born Harold Rowe Holbrook Jr. on February 17, 1925, was an American actor, film director, screenwriter, and character actor. He was a citizen of the United States and was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Holbrook received his education at Denison University, HB Studio, and Culver Academies.
Throughout his extensive career, Holbrook appeared in numerous notable films and TV shows, including "Hal Holbrook: Mark Twain Tonight!" (1967), "All the President's Men", "Into the Wild", "Magnum Force", "Lincoln", and "Wall Street" (1987). He was also recognized for his portrayals of historical figures, such as Abraham Lincoln.
Hal Holbrook received numerous awards and nominations throughout his career, including Primetime Emmy Awards, Alliance of Women Film Journalists EDA Awards, Central Ohio Film Critics Association Awards, Gold Derby Awards, Awards Circuit Community Awards, and many others.
Hal Holbrook passed away on January 23, 2021, in Beverly Hills, California.
