Halo Car

Halo Car is a developer of a drivelessdriverless electric car that can be rented by a passenger and which will take the passenger to, their locations. Similarsimilar to a taxi or other car service, except the electric car will end the trip with a return to the car's originating garage. The semi-autonomous vehicles feature cameras, radar, and ultrasonics as back upbackup to the remote operators, which control the vehicles through a 5G network - provided by T-Mobile through theirits Ultra Capacity midband 5G network. The vehicle offers users a chance to book and drive the car to their destination without worrying about parking or road safety.

Halo Car was founded in March of 2019 by CEO Anand Nandakumar and is headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada. The company's business model is a crosssimilar betweento other car-servicescar services, such as Zipcar, wherein which users book a vehicle and have to pick the vehicleit up from where it was last parked, but the Halo Car will drive semi-autonomously to the next rental, similar to a taxi or chaffeurchauffeur service. While the service operates across the Las Vegas area, but there is a limited area where the car is offered driverless while the rest inlcudesincludes a driver in the vehicle.

Remote drivers operate a car over the 5G network in a driving simulator, where the remote driver has a complete and uninterrupted view of the car. Once a customer enters the car, the remote driver disconnects until the user has ended their journey, at which point the remote operator takes command of the car to return it to the Halo Car garage. In the case whereWhen cars are delivered to an area outside of the driverless operation zone, a driver brings the car to the customer.
