Hana Al Rostamani is a businessperson and leader in the finance industry who is based in the United Arab Emirates. She attended George Washington University in the United States, where she earned her bachelor's degree in business administration and her master's degree in information management.
Al Rostamani has worked in finance and banking at various institutions, one of which was Citibank, from 1996 until 1999, where she held the position of assistant director of the credit cards department and credit policy unit. In 2000, she started working with First Gulf Bank and started in the position of director of product development and marketing and was promoted to vice president of the retail banking group. In 2005, she was promoted to the head of corporate communications, and in 2007, she was made head of the strategic planning department.
In January 2021, Al Rostamani was appointed the group CEO of First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) after having been the deputy group CEO and head of personal banking. She was the first woman CEO appointed at the company, and she is credited with increasing the company's net profits by 19 percent during her first year in the position.
Al Rostamani has received several awards during her career, including being named one of Forbes Most Powerful Businesswomen in the Middle East in 2021 (ranked third) and 2023 (ranked first). Also, in 2023, she was the top-ranking woman on Forbes Top CEOs of 2023.
Al Rostamani also holds various leadership and advisory positions for different organizations. She is a board member of the AW Rostamani Group, chairperson of FAB Private Bank Suisse, a member of Mastercard Advisory, and chair of the Global Council on the Sustainable Development Goals. She has also served as an independent director in Emirates Integrated Telecommunication Company (Du) and vice-chairperson of the Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Services.
