Hans Hofmann

Hans Hofmann (born March 21, 1880) was a German-American artist and architect. He was born in Weißenburg in Bayern, Germany and later moved to the United States. Hofmann was educated at the Académie Colarossi in Paris.

As an artist, Hofmann worked in various genres including Expressionism, Abstract Expressionism, Abstract Art, Portrait, Still Life, Cityscape, Self-Portrait, Painting, Fauvism, and Cubism. Notable works authored by Hofmann include "The Wind", "Self-Portrait with Brushes", "Ecstasy", and "The Conjurer".

Hans Hofmann passed away on February 17, 1966, in New York City.
