Hans Vestberg is the chairman and CEO of Verizon Communications. He has held the CEO position since 2018, and has been the chairman since 2019. He joined Verizon as its CTO & President of Global Networks. Prior to that, he served as CEO of Ericsson AB from 2010 to 2016 where he has worked since 1991. As of June 2020, Vestberg is also serving as a board member of United Nations Foundations, the Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative, and Childhood US.
Vestberg was involved in the formulation of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. He was also the president of the Swedish Olympic Committee from 2016 to 2018. He had aspirations of joining the Swedish's national handball team when he was younger, and served as the President of the Swedish Handball Federation from 2007 to 2016 . He graduated from Uppsala University with a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's degree from INSEAD. Vestberg is married with two children.
