Harvey J. Alter

Harvey J. Alter is an American virologist born on December 9, 1935, in New York City. He studied at the University of Rochester, where he obtained his education. Currently residing in the United States, Alter is known for his work in the field of virology.

Over his career, he has received several prestigious awards, including the 2020 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Alter has also been honored with the Lasker Award, Gairdner Foundation International Award, and the Karl Landsteiner Memorial Award.
