Hedwig Jagiellon, Duchess of Bavaria, was born on September 21, 1457, in Kraków. She was the daughter of Elizabeth of Austria (1436–1505). Holding Polish citizenship, Hedwig was a prominent figure in Poland.
As the mother of Margarete von Bayern, Hedwig played a significant role in the lives of her children. She spent her final years in Burghausen, Altötting, where she passed away on February 18, 1502.
