Henry Sydney, 1st Earl of Romney, was born on April 8, 1641, in Paris, and died on the same date in 1704 in London. He held citizenship in both France and the Kingdom of England. Sydney had dual occupations as a diplomat and politician. Having worked in both fields, he was considered a person of importance during his time.
Henry Sydney was the child of Robert Sidney, 2nd Earl of Leicester and Dorothy Sidney, Countess of Leicester.
