Mathematician
Hillel Furstenberg, born on September 29, 1935, in Berlin, is a mathematician with dual citizenship in Israel and the United States. He is currently located in Israel.
Furstenberg was educated at various institutions, including Princeton University, Yeshiva University, and Marsha Stern Talmudical Academy. He completed his doctorate under the supervision of Salomon Bochner.
During his career, Furstenberg has guided several doctoral students, such as Alexander Lubotzky, Vitaly Bergelson, Yuval Peres, Tamar Ziegler, Moshe Jarden, and Boaz Tsaban.
Furstenberg's work has been recognized with various accolades, including the prestigious 2020 Abel Prize.
