Hillel Slovak (13 April 1962 - 25 June 1988) was a guitarist, musician, songwriter, and backing vocalist from Haifa, Israel. He held citizenship in both Israel and the United States. Slovak was a founding member of the alternative rock, funk metal, funk rock, and punk rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers. He was known by the nicknames Pick Handle Slim and Slim. Hillel Slovak passed away in Los Angeles on 25 June 1988.
