Hoot Gibson (born August 6, 1892, in Tekamah, Nebraska) was an American film producer, actor, and director in the movie, cinematography, and film industry. He was active in filmmaking from the early to mid-20th century. Gibson was a US citizen and died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, on August 23, 1962.
Gibson's notable works include The Wrong Man, The Hazards of Helen, The Night Riders, and Judge Not; or The Woman of Mona Diggings. He primarily worked with films in the Western genre. In his career, Gibson directed The Double Hold-Up among other films.
