Imelda Marcos (born July 2, 1929) is a Filipino woman with various occupations, including model, diplomat, politician, socialite, entrepreneur, singer, and actress. She was born in Manila, Philippines, and holds citizenship in the Philippines. Imelda Marcos was educated at the Philippine Women's University.
She was married to Ferdinand Marcos, and they have three children: Imee Marcos, Irene Marcos, and Bongbong Marcos. Imelda is the mother of Bongbong Marcos. Her birth name is Imelda Remedios Visitacion Romualdez, and she is also known by the alias Imelda Romuáldez and the nickname "The Iron Butterfly".
Aside from her various occupations, Imelda Marcos is known for her involvement in kundiman genre and as a former First Lady of the Philippines.
