Immanuel Nobel (1801-1872) was a Swedish architect, engineer, and chemist who held citizenship in both Sweden and the Russian Empire. Born in Gävle, Sweden, he later died in Heleneborg.
Nobel had four children: Alfred Nobel, the inventor of dynamite and founder of the Nobel Prizes; Ludvig Nobel, a prominent engineer and businessman; Robert Nobel, a pioneer in the oil industry; and Emil Oskar Nobel. Immanuel was the son of another Immanuel Nobel.
Over his lifetime, Immanuel Nobel made notable contributions to the fields of architecture, engineering, and chemistry. He was born on March 24, 1801, and passed away on September 3, 1872.
