Indian politician and prime minister
Indira Gandhi was born on November 19, 1917, in Allahabad and was a citizen of India and the British Raj. She was a politician and writer, and was the daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru. Indira was educated at Somerville College, Oxford, Visva-Bharati University, and Badminton School.
As a politician, Indira Gandhi founded the Research and Analysis Wing. She received the Lenin Peace Prize for her work. Indira had two children, Rajiv Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi, and was the mother of Rajiv Gandhi.
Her father was Jawaharlal Nehru and her mother was Kamala Nehru. Indira Gandhi died on October 31, 1984, in New Delhi.
