Israel Kirzner (born February 13, 1930) is an American economist, writer, ethicist, and rabbi, who was born in London. Kirzner holds citizenship in the United States and is known for his multiple roles in various fields.
Kirzner received his education from several institutions across the United States and England, including the University of Cape Town, the University of London, Brooklyn College, Yeshiva Rabbi Chaim Berlin, and New York University (NYU).
While pursuing his studies at NYU, Kirzner was a doctoral student under the guidance of renowned Austrian economist Ludwig von Mises. Israel Kirzner also advised doctoral students, with Donald Lavoie being one of his students.
