Welsh composer and actor
Ivor Novello (born David Ivor Davies on January 15, 1893) was a multi-talented individual with a variety of occupations in the arts, including screenwriter, songwriter, actor, playwright, composer, writer, and film director. He was born in Cardiff and held citizenship in both the United Kingdom and Wales. Novello was educated at Magdalen College School, Oxford.
Throughout his career, Novello worked in various genres, such as musical theatre, operetta, and music hall. His mother, Clara Novello Davies, was a notable influence in his life. Among his numerous works, Ivor Novello is particularly known for "Glamorous Night". Novello passed away on March 6, 1951, in London.
