Jacob Maris

Jacob Maris (born August 25, 1837) was a Dutch painter. Born in The Hague, he held citizenship in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Maris was educated at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, where he honed his skills as a painter. His primary occupation was as a painter, and he focused on the genre of landscape painting.

Maris passed away on August 7, 1899, in Karlovy Vary. Throughout his life, he contributed greatly to the world of art with his landscape paintings, leaving an enduring legacy from his time at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.
