James Collip (1892-1965) was a Canadian biochemist and physician. Born in Belleville, Ontario, Collip was educated at Trinity College in Toronto. Throughout his career, he held an occupation as both a biochemist and a physician.

In recognition of his contributions to his field, Collip was posthumously inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2004. He passed away in London in 1965.
