James Whitbread Lee Glaisher was a mathematician and astronomer born on May 11, 1848, in Lewisham. He was educated at St Paul's School, London, and Trinity College, Cambridge. Glaisher was known for Glaisher's theorem and Glaisher–Kinkelin constant and received the De Morgan Medal for his achievements. He had one child, James Glaisher, and was married to Cecilia Glaisher. James Whitbread Lee Glaisher died on December 7, 1928, in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.
