Jan Vertonghen

Jan Vertonghen is a professional football player from Belgium . He was born on April 24, 1987, in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium . Currently, Vertonghen plays for S.L. Benfica in Portugal .

Throughout his career, Jan Vertonghen has received a number of awards and honors. In 2008, he was named the Ajax Talent of the Year and later, in 2012, he was awarded the Ajax Player of the Year title . Additionally, he was named Dutch Footballer of the Year in 2012 .

Vertonghen has also been part of several winning teams, including Dutch Champions in 2010/11 and 2011/12 , Dutch Cup Winner in 2009/10 , and bronze medalist of the Championship of England in 2015/16 . He has also been involved in numerous international competitions, achieving third place in the 2018 FIFA World Cup with the Belgium national team .

Jan Vertonghen has been recognized in various teams of the year, including the PFA Team of the Year and the UEFA Champions League Squad of the Season . He was also named Premier League Player of the Month in 2013 .
