Joseph Jason Namakeaha Momoa born August 1, 1979 , Honolulu , Hawaii is an American actor, director, screenwriter and producer of Hawaiian origin. He became famous for the roles of militant heroes in fantastic action films and fantasy, such as " Conan the Barbarian ", " Game of Thrones ", " Aquaman ", " Stargate: Atlantis ".

Biography

Momoa was born on August 1, 1979 in Honolulu , Hawaii , the son of Kony (Lemke), a photographer, and Joseph Momoa, an artist. His father is of Native Hawaiian descent and he identifies as having maternal Pawnee descent along with German and Irish heritage. He grew up in Norwalk, Iowa , under the care of his mother.

In 1998, Momoa was spotted by designer Eric Chandler and Takeo Kobayashi, who promoted his modeling career.At 19, he also worked part-time in a surf shop , after which he landed the role of Jason Yoan for seasons 10-11 (1999-2001 ) on Baywatch .
