Jeff Heitzman is an angel investor at New Stack Ventures, as well as managing partner at CTC Ventures. He has worked with Chicago Trading Company (CTC) for over twenty years; during this time he served in a variety of positions. Heitzman started as an options trader with CTC in 2001, before taking on the appointment of executive director of financial engineering in June of 2004. In 2009, Heitzman became the executive director of risk management at the company, and he stayed in the field of risk analytics in a variety of positions with various teams until 2017.
Beyond his work in risk analysis, Jeff Heitzman is an investor. He became a partner at CTC in 2013 and managing partner at CTC Ventures, CTC's investment arm, beginning in 2017. As managing partner at CTC Ventures, Heitzman has focused on investments in fintech start-ups, machine learning, and blockchain technologies. CTC Ventures has invested in companies such as Hxro, Pico, and Adjoint. In addition to his work at CTC Ventures, Heitzman is an angel investor at New Stack Ventures, an investment firm founded in 2015 that focuses on start-ups that are pre-revenue, in pilots/PoCs, or early commercialization.He has made personal investments in the companies Allevi and notion.
Heitzman attended University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, earning a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 2001. He also received a certificate in Quantitative Finance from 7city in 2008.
