Jerome Karle

Jerome Karle (1918-2013) was a chemist born in New York City and held U.S. citizenship. Karle received his education from various institutions, including Harvard University, the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, Abraham Lincoln High School (Brooklyn), and City College of New York.

During his career, Karle worked in the United States. His main occupation was as a chemist. Karle was advised by Lawrence O. Brockway during his doctoral studies and later had a doctoral student named Herbert A. Hauptman.

Karle was awarded the 1985 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. He passed away in Annandale, Virginia on June 6, 2013.
