She is an actor, theatrical producer, television director, film producer, and television producer . Woodward was born in Thomasville, Georgia .

During her educational years, Woodward attended several institutions, including Louisiana State University, Sarah Lawrence College, Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre, Marietta High School in Georgia, Greenville High School in South Carolina, and Greenville High School in Michigan .
