German author and critic
Johann Christoph Gottsched (1700-1766) was a German writer, poet, and philosopher. He was born in Königsberg on February 2, 1700 and died in Leipzig on December 12, 1766. Gottsched was educated at the University of Königsberg and held the citizenship for Germany. His works were significant during the Age of Enlightenment in Germany, where he was recognized as an instance of a person.
