John Carpenter is an American film producer, director, screenwriter, actor, composer, and writer who was born on January 16, 1948, in Carthage, New York. His birth name is John Howard Carpenter. Carpenter currently resides in Los Angeles and is a citizen of the United States.
Carpenter studied at the University of Southern California (USC) School of Cinematic Arts, Western Kentucky University, and graduated from USC. In the music realm, he has produced electronic music, rock music, film scores, and ambient music.
As a film director, some of his notable works include "Escape from L.A.", "Cigarette Burns", and "In the Mouth of Madness". Carpenter created the movie "Assault on Precinct 13" and was also a member of the board of directors for the movies "Halloween", "The Thing" (video game), and "Assault on Precinct 13".
