John Cassavetes (1929-1989) was an American film director, screenwriter, actor, film producer, character actor, writer, and author. Born in New York City, he was a citizen of the United States.
Cassavetes was educated at American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Blair Academy, Colgate University, and Paul D. Schreiber Senior High School.
He directed films such as 'Minnie and Moskowitz' and 'The Killing of a Chinese Bookie'. Cassavetes also worked in the genre of Western.
John was the son of Katherine Cassavetes and had three children: Nick Cassavetes, Alexandra Cassavetes, and Zoe Cassavetes. Cassavetes passed away in Los Angeles.
