American art historian and critic
John Charles Van Dyke (1856-1932) was an American historian, journalist, writer, teacher, librarian, art critic, and novelist. Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, he was a citizen of the United States and held American nationality. Van Dyke was the son of Mary Strong.
Throughout his career, Van Dyke received an education from Columbia University and Columbia Law School. John Charles Van Dyke died in New York City in 1932.
