American author & writer, founder of Rockefeller Brothers Fund
John D. Rockefeller III (born March 21, 1906) was an American philanthropist, and a member of the prominent Rockefeller family. He completed his education at Princeton University and held United States citizenship. John D. Rockefeller III was the founder of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, a charitable organization created in 1940.
One of his children was Jay Rockefeller, who served as a U.S. Senator and the Governor of West Virginia. John D. Rockefeller III passed away on July 10, 1978, in Pocantico Hills, New York.
