John E. Walker, born John Ernest Walker on January 7, 1941, is a British chemist. He was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and is currently located in the United Kingdom. Walker is best known for being a recipient of the 1997 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, and has also been awarded a Knight Bachelor and the Copley Medal.
Walker received his education at Rastrick High School and St Catherine's College, Oxford. Furthermore, Edward Abraham served as his doctoral advisor. Currently, Walker is employed at the MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit in Cambridge.
