English physician and plant collector
John Fothergill was a physician born in Bainbridge, North Yorkshire, on August 3, 1712. He held citizenship of the Kingdom of Great Britain. He received his education from the University of Edinburgh Medical School. Fothergill was the founder of the Ackworth School and also owned West Ham Park. He was a prominent physician during his time. He passed away in London on December 26, 1780.
