John Galsworthy (1867-1933) was a British writer, playwright, novelist and screenwriter, known for his notable works including The Forsyte Saga (1906-1921) and its sequels, A Modern Comedy and End of the Chapter. He was born in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and was a citizen of the United Kingdom and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
Galsworthy received his education at Harrow School and New College, Oxford. He sometimes wrote under the pseudonym John Sinjohn.
His notable works include The Forsyte Saga, The Silver Box, A Modern Comedy, and End of the Chapter. In 1932, Galsworthy was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
He passed away in London on January 31, 1933.
