John Philip Holland (1841-1914) was an engineer from the Republic of Ireland who also held United States citizenship. Born in Liscannor on February 1, 1841, he later died in Newark, New Jersey on August 12, 1914. Holland was the founder of General Dynamics and DVC, and was recognized as a 2007 National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductee.
