John Wayne, born Marion Robert Morrison, was an American actor, film director, film producer, and screenwriter. He was born on May 26, 1907, in Winterset, Iowa, and held United States citizenship. Wayne passed away on June 11, 1979, in Los Angeles.
John Wayne attended the University of Southern California and Glendale High School in Glendale, California. He was predominantly known for his roles in Western genre films. Wayne, also known by his nickname "Duke," founded Batjac Productions, a film production company.
Wayne had three children: Patrick Wayne, Ethan Wayne, and Michael Wayne.
