Josef Stefan

Josef Stefan (1835–1893) was an Austrian mathematician, physicist, poet, scientist, writer, and professor . Born in the Austrian Empire, he later held citizenship in Austria-Hungary . Stefan studied at the University of Vienna and was a doctoral advisor to notable scientists Ludwig Boltzmann, Johann Josef Loschmidt, and Marian Smoluchowski .

Among his notable works are the Stefan–Boltzmann law and the Stefan–Boltzmann constant, which are significant contributions to the field of physics . Josef Stefan was born in Klagenfurt, and he died in Vienna .
