Joseph L. Mankiewicz, also known by his full name Joseph Leo Mankiewicz, was an American screenwriter, producer, and director. Born on February 11, 1909, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Mankiewicz attended Columbia University and Stuyvesant High School. In his career, Mankiewicz was involved in various aspects of the film industry working as a translator, film producer, actor, and film director. He passed away on February 5, 1993, in Bedford, New York.
