Joseph Losey (January 14, 1909 – June 22, 1984) was an American-born film director, screenwriter, film producer, and theatre director who was a citizen of the United States. He was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and died in London.
Losey studied at La Crosse Central High School, Dartmouth College, and Harvard University. Throughout his career, he directed various films, including The Criminal (1960) and Time Without Pity (1957).
He received several prestigious awards, such as the Golden Shell, Palme d'Or, and the Golden Lion. Joseph Losey was married to Patricia Losey, and they had two children, Gavrik Losey and Joshua Losey.
