French sculptor
Jules Dalou (1838-1902) was a French sculptor, born and died in Paris. He held French citizenship and was associated with the genre of portrait sculptures. One of his notable works is the "Victor Noir" sculpture.
Dalou received his education from École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs and École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts. He was also involved in the occupation of Communards, a radical socialist movement during the Paris Commune (1871).
