Marchand currently serves as CEO on Kaloom's management team, along with president Stéphane Boisvert and CTO Suresh Krishnan, among others. Kaloom's foundational product is the Cloud Edge Fabric, a fully automated data center networking interface that is designed for simultaneous 4G and 5G applications at the data center edge. The Cloud Edge Fabric provides native support for network slicing, as well as embedded 5G user plane function (UPF). Kaloom advertises that the Cloud Edge Fabric addresses key requirements for the cloud edge market by operating at a lower latency while also improving performance at a lower cost.
Kaloom is also the creator of the Software Defined Fabric, an industrialized software for networking white boxes, pieces of commodity hardware that can run a chosen network operating system. The Software Defined Fabric is designed for hyperscale and distributed data centers, and is intended for use by clients in the data center operator, telco, enterprise, cloud, and gaming industries. The Software Defined Fabric allows for integrated routing and switching, while also enabling developers to develop new code and clients to add new services and features in-house. The intention of the Software Defined Fabric is to virtualize data centers through use of low-cost white boxes.
Kaloom has raised over $32 million in funding over four rounds since 2017. Kaloom's most recent funding round was a $9.4 million Series A round from Alternative Capital Group.
