Karl Benz (born November 25, 1844) was a German engineer and entrepreneur, known for being the founder of the companies Daimler AG and Mercedes-Benz Group. He was born in Mühlburg, Germany, and held German citizenship.
Benz had a background in education from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. In his career, he worked as an engineer and had Ferdinand Redtenbacher as his doctoral advisor.
Karl Benz became a parent to a son named Richard Benz. Later in life, he passed away in Ladenburg, Germany on April 4, 1929.
