Katharine Viner

She first published her first article in The Guardian in 1987, and as a regular contributor appeared in the newspaper in 1997. She worked briefly in the women's department and became the editor of the Guardian Weekend app in 1998.

Wiener attended Ripon Gymnasium, graduated from Oxford and got a job at Cosmopolitan magazine. After a while, she was offered the position of assistant, and then appointed deputy editor of news and career. In 1994, Wiener left for The Sunday Times newspaper.
