The Kawasaki Z400 is a 399 cc Z series standard motorcycle introduced by Kawasaki as a successor to the Z300. It was unveiled at the 2018 EICMA in Milan, Italy. It is powered by a 399 cc (24.3 cu in) liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine derived from the Ninja 400 sport bike.
The main technical changes of Kawasaki Z400 compared to Z300:
Engine
Increased its volume and compression ratio, which led to an increase in power by 6 hp. and lowering the maximum speed by 1000. Torque has been increased by 11 Nm, and became fully available already at 8000 rpm (instead of 10000 on the Z300).
Frame
The steel diagonal was replaced by a steel tubular structure with an engine as a supporting element. This frame technology is used on the Kawasaki Ninja H2 series models.
Pendants
A noticeable change was the increase in the diameter of the front fork legs from 37 to 41 mm. The rear suspension settings have changed slightly.
