Ken Annakin (born 10 August 1914, Beverley, United Kingdom; died 22 April 2009, Beverly Hills, California) was a British film director, screenwriter, and film producer. He was educated at Beverley Grammar School.
Annakin worked in various industries, including movies, cinematography, filmmaking, and the film industry. Throughout his career, he directed numerous films such as Miranda, The Longest Day, Paper tiger, and Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines. He was also responsible for directing family-oriented films, including The Story of Robin Hood and His Merrie Men, The Sword and the Rose, and The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking.
Annakin's expansive career saw him directing various genres, from comedies like Monte Carlo or Bust to dramas such as The Long Duel and adventure films like Swiss Family Robinson.
