Ken Howery is an American venture capitalist and entrepreneur. He is a co-founder of PayPal, an online payments system. He is technology venture capital firm, Founders Fund's co-founder and partner.
He obtained Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the Stanford University in 1998.
He was Chief finance officer and co-founder of Paypal along with Peter Thiel, Luke Nosek, Elon Musk and Max Levchin in 1998. He was Director of Corporate Development at eBay after it acquired Paypal in 2002.
He also served as Vice President at the Clarium Capital Management, an investment management firm in 2004 rejoining Peter Thiel.
In 2005, Ken Howery, Peter Thiel and Luke Nosek, started Founders Fund. He serves as one of the boards of Quantcast, Cedar and ZocDoc.
He is Chairman and co-founder of Popexpert Inc, a platform that provides a learning marketplace for lifelong learning.
He has lectured on entrepreneurship at Harvard Business School and Stanford University. He helped students at University of California, Berkeley and UT Austin's McCombs School of Business to develop business models. He was selected to keynote the Harvard Business School Entrepreneurship Conference.
Venture Capital Journal named him as one of the Top 10 venture capitalists (VCs) under 36 in 2010. He was also Top 10 Venture Capitalist by Worth Magazine in 2013 and a member of the Forbes Midas List of top venture capital investors in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
