Kirsty Nathoo is the CFO and partner of the startup accelerator Y Combinator, based in Mountain View, California.
Nathoo received an undergraduate and Master's degree in information engineering from the University of Cambridge.
Nathoo originally planned on pursuing a career in information engineering and web developing, but after some experience realized she disliked "the stereotypical experience of being a developer in the early 2000s in the UK." She decided to make the switch to a career in finance, and spent those first three years studying to become a chartered accountant.
Nathoo began her career at Y Combinator in 2011 as the vice president of finance and operations. She was introduced to the company through her husband, Amir Nathoo, whose first startup was being funded by them. Nathoo was instrumental in building the business by taking on several more roles than in just finances, including events organizer, office manager, and batch manager. Nathoo became a partner in the company, as well as its CFO, in June 2012.
