Kleros is a company building a decision-making protocol for the creation of a decentralized justice system for resolving customer disputes that is headquartered in Paris, France and was founded in 2017 by Federico Ast, Clément Lesaege, and Nicolas Wagner.
The Kleros platform acts as a third party arbitration and dispute resolution system that is built on top of the Ethereum blockchain and combined with the crowdsourcing of jurors. The Kleros platform uses the Kleros (PNK) cryptocurrency as the method of payment for the completion and enforcement of Kleros smart contracts. Kleros claims their arbitration system allows jurors to make correct rulings which rely on game theoretic incentives using their Kleros platform in a fast, inexpensive, reliable, and decentralized manner.
Kleros takes advantage of game theory and blockchain technology to create an arbitration protocol for multiple purposes to be used in applications in e-commerce, finance, travel, international trade, consumer protection, intellectual property, and academia.
Kleros has established partnerships with Blue Frontiers, Ink Protocol, Deversifi, and MarketProtocol. Kleros is also hosted by Thomson Reuters Incubator and Bpifrance.
