KuCoin Exchange, also known as "The People's Exchange," is a cryptocurrency exchange headquartered in Seychelles. The cryptocurrency exchange officially launched on September 15, 2017, and was founded in 2013 by Michael Gan, Eric Don, Top Lan, Kent Li, John Lee, Jack Zhu, and Linda Lin.
The exchange platform offers a KuCoin wallet protected by multilayer encryption and offline storage through bank safe and/or funds escrow. KuCoin also comes with profit-sharing among token holders.
KuCoin offers exchange staking services, in which the exchange commits a user's crypto holding to validate transactions on the blockchain while rewarding the original holder and offering greater liquidity. In the case of a network that requires a specific amount of tokens to stake, the exchange offers a chance for users to place their tokens into a staking pool with others who do not have the minimum required tokens, allowing them to stake their coins into a network and giving them a percentage of the yields from that stake.
To do so, KuCoin offers a soft staking program that enables users to earn rewards without a lock-up period, allowing users to compound their coin or token balances for consistent passive income and offering greater flexibility while earning yields on coins.
They also offer a cold staking program, in which the assets are held in an offline wallet. This gives the user complete control of their account and allows them to stake. However, only a few exchanges support this feature, and cold staking does not allow an individual to join a staking pool.
