German-american mathematician
Kurt Otto Friedrichs (1901-1982) was a mathematician who held citizenship in both Germany and the United States. He was born in Kiel, Germany and later died in New Rochelle, New York. Friedrichs studied at the University of Göttingen and went on to work as a mathematician.
During his career, Friedrichs mentored doctoral students such as Raphael Høegh-Krohn and Peter Lax.
