Mbappé was born Kylian Adesanmi Mbappé Lottin in 1998 and raised in Bondy, a suburb of Paris. His mother is Fayza Lamari, a former Division I handball player, and his father is Wilfried Mbappé, a former AS Bondy coach. He first played for the French National Football Institution at Clairefontaine. He made his professional football debut at age sixteen when he joined AS Monaco. He played for Monaco from 2015-2017 before joining PSG. In Monaco, he won his first league title, won the Golden Boy award in 2017, and was noticed internationally.
