British novelist and short story writer
L. P. Hartley (1895-1972) was a writer from the United Kingdom known for his work in novels and short stories. Born in Whittlesey, he later died in London. Hartley was educated at several prestigious institutions, including Clifton College, Harrow School, and Balliol College, Oxford.
His notable work, "The Go-Between", earned him recognition and accolades, including the James Tait Black Memorial Prize and the Heinemann Award. Additionally, Hartley was appointed as a Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
